What we collect

Account: email address, password (stored by our authentication provider, never readable by us), and, if you sign in with Google, your name and email from Google.

About you (optional): first and last name, date of birth, how long you have invested, how you rate your knowledge, what you trade, your goals and the sectors you follow, plus which terms you accepted and when.

What you create: watchlists, saved screens, alerts, portfolio positions, backtests and options scans.

Usage: pages visited and basic device information through privacy-friendly analytics, and server logs for security and debugging.

How we use it

To run your account and send the emails you ask for (confirmations, password resets, alerts). To tailor your dashboard: your sectors first, a simpler view if you are new. We do not use your answers to give advice, and we do not sell your personal information.

Who processes it for us

Supabase (accounts and database), Vercel (hosting and analytics), Resend (email), Stripe (payments, if you subscribe) and OpenAI (AI summaries, which receive the market data shown in a report and your question, not your name or email). Market data providers receive no personal information.

Cookies and storage

Cookies keep you signed in. Your browser stores a few preferences (theme, Simple view, dismissed tips). We do not use advertising cookies.

Keeping and deleting it

We keep your data while your account is open. You can change your answers in Settings at any time, and ask for a copy or deletion of your data at support@stockscreener.app; deleting the account removes your profile, lists, alerts and positions.

Children

Backsight is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
